As UNM NABPI’s Governance Council Coordinator and Tribal Leader Liaison, Shelly C. Chimoni engages with leadership at the tribal, state, and federal levels. In addition, she supports the institute’s higher education initiative and works across projects that provide research support. She has served as head tribal council woman for Zuni Pueblo and has more than 15 years of experience related to tribal government, education, health care, and social/judicial issues affecting children/youth/families.
