Cina Littlebird (Laguna Pueblo) was born and raised in Santa Fe.Cina brings almost a decade of legal aid experience where she has provided free legal services to low-income Native American families across Washington State and New Mexico. She has represented individuals in tribal and state courts; submitted amicus curiae briefing in two Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) cases before the Washington Supreme Court; and brought an employment discrimination claim against the Washington Department of Social and Health Services based on a disparate impact theory given the disproportionate rate at which Native American families are Child Protective Services-involved. Prior to her legal career, Cina interned with the National Indian Education Association and Think New Mexico; worked as a youth corps leader with an environmental non-profit; and danced professionally with Dancing Earth. She is passionate about breaking cycles of inequity through making the invisible visible.
